Following several years of intense research and development, AGE’s R&D division has developed and patented a new conception of line filters called AGE SEF (Skin Effect Filter).
The technology is based upon a physic principle called “Skin Effect”. AGE SEF maximizes the transfer of energy at 50Hz, while opposing high resistance to the higher frequency (harmonics). The differential mode line filter AGE SEF is able to block the noises on the feed line, both noises coming from the grid and noises coming from the devices, and diminish the spikes and over voltage, responsible for most of the malfunctioning of the devices that uses electrical energy.
The high performance AGE SEF filters has an extraordinary efficiency and are able to attenuate the EMI (Electro Magnetic Interferences) noises with both differential and common mode.
Currently, on the market there are other line filters that use passive electrical components, including resistors, inductances and capacitors. The use of such components implicates firstly loss of Ohms and, secondly, it influences the lifespan of the filter to the lifespan of the weakest component.
The main differences of AGE SEF compared to the other filters available on the market are: lower cost, higher efficiency, higher reliability, longer lifespan, the ability to support high input voltage current (thousands of amperes), no internal passive components.
A particular aspect of AGE SEF is to have a nearly unlimited lifespan, very different from other filters on the market that are usually replaced after few years. AGE SEF filters uses a minimal amount of space, especially for high voltage size.
The filters are ideal for any application that involves Inverters, switching devices, operating power units, parcel phasing and switching feeders. The scope of the filters is to protect and preserve all the downstream devices and all the controllers (that normally disturbs the power), in other words the filters doesn’t allow the passage of disturbing harmonics.
The Return of Investment (ROI) for AGE SEF is, usually, less than one year. Please note that the ROI for AGE SEF is not easily computable, since the benefits of the use of AGE SEF filters is reflected upon all the hardware devices connected to the internal grid network, with the increase of the lifespan of such devices and with a remarkable saving of their maintenance costs and substitution.
